Problem/Symptoms:
“Windows cannot be installed to this disk. The selected disk has an MBR partition table. On EFI systems, Windows can only be installed to GPT disks.”
This error message appeared when I would try to install Windows 10. The system used was a C55-A5105 laptop.
Solution:
The Toshiba C55-A5105 had a BIOS setting that can change the boot mode. Changing the boot mode to CSM Boot allowed Windows 10 OS to install.
Change the Boot Mode BIOS setting:
1. Enter the BIOS menu. Some systems can vary, and may need a particular key pressed during the boot up. For instance, the Toshiba C55-A5105 needs the F2 key held down during boot up.
2. Once the the BIOS menu is opened, navigate through the menu, and find the boot mode option.
