Printer Is Grabbing Multiple Sheets Of Paper

21 Jan

Problems/Symptoms:
1. The printer would grab multiple sheets of paper.
-Multiple sheets of paper would enter the printer, especially, when the printer was down to the last two or three pages of paper that was in the paper tray.

Solution:
-The separator pad is worn out and is causing multiple sheets of paper to enter the printer.
-I bought a cork circle pad from the 99 cent only store and used it as a replacement separator pad. The circle cork pad is originally in a circle shape form, so I had to cut the pad the same size and shape as the worn out separator pad that was originally on the printer. I used an exacto knife to cut the circle cork pad to match the separator pad on the printer. Then I used sand paper to make the cork pad less thick. The circle cork pad already includes an adhesive side, so the replacement circle cork pad was able to stick by simply pealing off the adhesive sticker.

You will need a circle cork pad, exacto knife, and sand paper.

For my printer, you will need to pull out the paper tray to gain access to the separator pad. On the bottom, you need to bend the bottom part of the assembly to unhook the paper tray.

This is the paper tray for my 950C Deskjet. Try to make separator padĀ fit into the area for the separator pads.

When you sand down the cork pad, make it have a ramp so the paper can more easily enter the printer.
