There are other options for example if you go to add a new device on the Alexa app to add a blue tooth speaker to Alexa, Alexa will not be able to add the blue tooth speaker. The app will be on the discover step process and it will never find the device.

In order to add a blue tooth speaker:

  1. The 3 lines at the bottom. If they update the app, the 3 lines might be in another location.
  • Then go to settings.
  • Device settings
  • Select your echo dot

Then you will see a menu called Bluetooth connections. This is how you will connect your Bluetooth speaker. Just click on connect device and turn on your speaker and make sure it is on blue tooth pairing mode, and it should connect.
