Windows installations has gotten more user friendly, but even though it is more user friendly it does not mean that there is no problems that can arise. Windows installation can be a straight forward process until something that does not work correctly. For example, Windows 10 may not detect your SSD during the installation process. You might see that there is no hard drive to select during the operating system installation. Although this may be caused for multiple reason, a quick check in the BIOS might help. Check that the setting AHCI is selected. So before concluding that the SSD has failed or conclude that there is a hardware failure, check these settings in the BIOS first.

The picture above shows that there is no SSD to select. The window is empty. Selecting AHCI in the BIOS might fix the issue, which will allow the drive to be shown here.
