BitLocker Loop Computer Keeps Asking For Bitlocker Code Every time the Computer is Turned On

When bitLocker is enabled on a computer, a motherboard replacement will trigger the bitLocker prompt and will ask for the long 48 character code. Entering the bitLocker key code once is already a pain. Imagine having to enter the bitlocker key code every time you turn on the computer.
There are more than one way to stop this bitLocker loop. This method requires access to the BIOS. Find the method to enter your computer’s BIOS. For a Dell computer, pressing the F2 key upon powering on the computer bring you to the BIOS.


Once you have found the method of your computer to enter the BIOS, Change the the following settings:

  1. Uncheck the “Windows Boot Manager” option

2. Check the option “Enable Secure Boot”

Once these settings are changed, enter the bitLocker when prompted then reboot the computer and verify if the bitLocker loop is eliminated.
