A Dell 7920 Tower are good computers when they want to work. I have heard people say that they have these machines running all day, and they work great. When these machines decide not to work, these machines can be very stubborn. I feel like one thing breaks after another on these machines. Although these machines are powerful, these machines are not always the easiest to work with because of how delicate these systems are.
In this blog post, I will talk about how a Dell 7920 could not get passed the Dell Logo. When powering on a Dell computer, the Dell logo will appear upon powering on the system. After the Dell logo appears, the operating system will start to load. This was not the case for one 7920 that I was working on. This 7920 would not get passed the Dell logo.
When trying to troubleshoot the system, I removed the hard drive and powered on the system. With the hard drive removed, the system powered on and went passed the Dell logo after powering on. It looks as though the hard drive was preventing the system from powering on. Replacing the hard drive fixed the issue entirely.
