A monitor or display is an important part of a laptop computer. Without a display, the laptop is unuseable because the display is what shows the user all of the information that they are looking for.
Replacing an LCD is quite simple, especially for a Dell Latitude 9520. This computer will be worked on here.
For this replacement, the entire LCD assembly is going to be replaced. In order to get to the screw holding down the LCD, the back plate needs to be removed. There are about eight screws holding down the back plate. Once the backing plate is removed, all of the system components will be exposed. In regards to screws holding down the LCD, the screws that need to be removed are located near the corners of the laptop. For this model, there are 3 screws on each side holding down the hinges. There is also the LCD cable that connects to the motherboard, and this connector is being held down by a bracket and a screw. When the screw on the bracket is off, the bracket can slide out of place.
