Updating your computer is important. If your computer is not up to date, you may have a security risk because of a possible flaw in the operating system. Not only a security risk is a possibility, but a program may not properly work. Updating a computer helps the operating system operate at its best. Updating Ubuntu is not a difficult task at all, and only requires a few steps. You can update Ubuntu through the application in Ubuntu or you can update it through the terminal. I personally like to update Ubuntu through the terminal instead of the application. I will show you how to update Ubuntu through the terminal.
Step 1:
Open the terminal in Ubuntu. You can get to the terminal in different ways. One way is to, simply, right click on the desktop and click on “terminal.”
Step 2:
Once the terminal is open, type in the following commands.
This will fetch the updates.
“sudo apt-get update”
This will install the updates.
“sudo-apt-get upgrade”
