Problems/Symptoms:
1. I cannot move files from my Windows 7 machine to my Windows 8 machine in Homegroup; however, I can only get/retrieve files from my Windows 8 machine to my Windows 7 machine.
Solution:
-On the Windows 8 computer, I had to right click on the folder that I wanted to share and choose “Share with” / “Homegroup(view and edit)”
If I wanted to retrieve a file from my Windows 8 computer using my Windows 7 machine, it would transfer just fine. I would get a permission error when I would try to transfer files to my Windows 8 machine using my Windows 7 machine, however.
On the windows 8 computer, if you right click on the library you would like to share and click “Share with” then “Homegroup(view and edit)” you should now be able to move files from your Windows 7 computer to your Windows 8 machine or vice versa.
